    Premium NILIT® Heat performance fibers combined with seamless design make this a fan favorite. Not only is this Baselayer extremely comfortable next-to-skin, the nylon fibers are infused with coffee charcoal to fight odors, repel body oils, and retain body heat. This highly durable and moisture wicking 4-way stretch fabric allows for rapid evaporation and full freedom of movement. When kids get hot, they can easily use the ¼ zip to dump heat. why we made it

Most kids baselayers are either polyester which wicks moisture but provides zero warmth (and also absorbs body oils) or merino wool, which is smoother than other wools but is still itchy for kids. We wanted a better, more technical, baselayer top to be the foundation for cold weather activities but also the kind of next-to-skin layer that kids will wear all the time.

Retains Heat, Not Odors

Unlike polyester, nylon fibers repel body oil and prevent odor. And blended with Nilit Heat performance yarns, infused with coffee charcoal, our blend retains body heat and is naturally deodorizing.

Seamless Comfort

Seamless construction means the singular body panel is made on a drum with no side seams that would create chafing. Silky smooth all the way around the body for active and itch-sensitive kids.

Sweat-free Sensation

Our nylon blend is moisture-wicking providing a high-tech, cozy, sweat-free sensation in warmer weather and under heavy exertion from older kids. The perfect next-to-skin layer in all conditions.

Hideaway Thumbholes

Thumbholes prevent sleeves from riding up and ensures the entire wrist area has coverage from the cold. When not in use, the overlapping fabric of the thumbhole closes back up.

Mesh 1/4-Zip Neck Gusset

Open up the 1/4 zip and get cooling airflow through the mesh while still keeping snow out. And our custom Shred Camo print on the mesh adds a cool, fun, pop of style.

Size Guides

SHRED DOG size guides are based on body size not garment measurements. Please note that all SHRED DOG products are designed to layer, therefore each product is cut and sized to accommodate the appropriate layers underneath it. 

Fit

If you want a "true to size" fit today with little to no room to grow, order the size that your kid falls into on the charts below.

If you want a "looser" fit with more room to grow, order 1 size up and use the Adjust-A-Fit System to shorten the sleeves or pant legs. As kids grow, the sleeves and pant legs can extend with them (only on Hardshells, Insulators, and Pants).

How To Measure

To get the best fitting products please take a few minutes to measure your kid following these simple steps.

For all measuring use a flexible tape. If you do not have a flexible measuring tape, you can you a piece of string etc. to take the initial measurement and then hold it up to a construction style measuring tape.

1) Chest - Measure horizontally around the fullest area of the chest (underneath the arms)
2) Waist or Hip – use whichever measurement is bigger to select your final size
a) Waist - Measure horizontally around the narrowest part of the waist, (which is about 2 inches above the belly button)
b) Hip - With feet together measure around the fullest point of the hip,  keeping the tape measure horizontal
3) Sleeve Length - Start at point where the spine meets the base of your neck, measure out to the shoulder, then down to the wrist bone.
4) Inseam Length - From crotch, along inside of the leg, to the floor.

 

*NOTE - All outerwear pieces (Hardshells, Insulators, and Pants) can have the sleeves and pant legs reduced up to 2" with our Adjust-A-Fit system. As kids grow, the sleeves and pant legs can grow with them.
