why we made it

A quality, everyday, insulated "puffy" jacket from other brands cost $100 or more and is in addition to buying a winter/ski/snowboard jacket. We designed the Akita insulator to be that perfect year-round lightweight jacket yet also do double-duty as the insulation layer that zips into our winter hardshells.

The Akita Insulator is more than just your kids’ favorite everyday jacket, it can also be layered or zipped into the Xena Hardshell (sold separately) for snow sports. This layering system keeps kids comfortable in a variety of conditions and reduces the number of jackets you need.

3M THINSULATE INSULATION

Water resistant, high warmth-to-thickness ratio retains body heat while maintaining breathability and enhanced freedom of movement.

ZIP-IN COMPATIBLE

The Akita Insulator can be zipped into the Xena Hardshell (sold separately) on cold winter days to function as one integrated jacket.

2-WAY SLEEVE LENGTH ADJUSTMENT

Rather than sleeves that only extend by ripping a seam and sacrifice waterproofness, our Adjust-A-Fit System allows sleeves to be shortened for a custom fit today, lengthened as kids grow, and then re-shortened for a hand-me-down later.

Water Resistant

A DWR (Durable Water Repellency) finish makes the Insulator water resistant.

4 pockets for all their stuff

standard hand pockets plus a hidden stash pocket and internal mesh pocket that doubles as the goggle pocket when zipped into the shell, covering the shell's goggle pocket

I recommend this product

This is all I buy for my kids

My daughter and son have been in Shreddah year for two years now. Quality is superb. Keeps them warm and the layers are well designed to work with each other. Plus my kids think they look pretty dope in them! I don’t think I’ll buy another brand of ski parkas for my kids- as the saying goes if the wheel ain’t broke don’t fix it!
